The judiciary is muddled; a comparability with Jesus helps.
I first met Charles Haddon-Cave once I was 15. I had walked into a kettle I had left to boil on the ground, and the boiling water had burnt all of the pores and skin off round my ankle, so I used to be despatched to the Sanatorium till it grew again. He had one thing infectious. We chatted a bit to whereas away the time, and obtained to know one another. Neither of us knew a lot about Islam on the time; or certainly Christianity. Subsequently we each ended up learning legislation at college, and he went on to turn into a decide.
He has simply completed presided over the trial of Parsons Green Bomber Ahmed Hassan. Finding him responsible of attempting to homicide a train-load of folks within the title of Islam, Judge Haddon-Cave, supplied some theological recommendation to Hassan.
“Finally, Ahmed Hassan, let me say this to you. You will have plenty of time to study the Qur’an in prison in the years to come. You should understand that the Qur’an is a book of peace; Islam is a religion of peace…. You have violated the Qur’an and Islam by your actions, as well as the law of all civilized people. It is to be hoped that you will come to realise this one day.”
Apparently Charles had spent a summer season studying the Koran for himself in translation, and had come to this conclusion. I feel it displays kindly on his optimism, and fewer effectively on his experience outdoors the legislation.
There is little question that Mohammed did begin a religion of peace whereas he was in Mecca. He was pleasant in direction of each the Jews and the Christians, and the early half of the Koran mirror that. It accommodates many amicable sentiments.
But issues went improper. After 13 years of preaching, with solely a handful of followers, the folks of Mecca threw him out.
Once in Medina, Mohammed modified the tone of his ‘messages from God”. They grew to become more and more violent, and he grew to become a War-Lord, main small armies who raided and attacked, ravaged and killed their enemies.
